Happy Mag commissioned six music makers in Sydney to create sample packs for Ableton Live users. Now, you can get hold of carefully captured sounds recorded in locations that tell the story of the city, from skateparks to breweries and gyms to video arcades.
No two cities sound the same, and Happy Mag is collecting the idiosyncratic sounds of Sydney with their Sydney Sounds series of free sample packs for Live users.
To create each pack, a local artist chooses a location, spends a day armed with field recording gear to capture the sounds of their chosen spot, then heads back to their studio to refine and catalog their samples.
The Sydney Sounds packs are free to download at Ableton. Live Suite is required to make full use of the downloads.
