Techivation has announced an update to its spectral dynamics plugin that combines downward compression, upward compression, gating, and frequency-dependent processing in a single interface.
Unlike conventional multiband compressors, M-Compressor 2 processes the signal spectrally without dividing it into fixed crossover bands. Shelves and Tilt modes adjust how strongly different frequency regions are processed, and a Shaping control modifies the spectral response continuously according to the incoming signal.
The update also introduces Techivation’s next-generation intelligent Mix Assistant, which focuses this depth into a single control.
After analysing the audio, the system generates 12 processing styles. Users can select four of these and blend between them using an XY control. All settings produced by the assistant remain visible and can be edited manually.
M-Compressor 2 for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX) is on sale for an introductory price of $55 until July 20th, 2026 (regular $149 USD). Crossgrade & upgrade offers are available to owners of premium Techivation plugins.
