Teletone Audio has announced the release of a new piano instrument library created with a bold and fearless approach to sampling.
Bringing the sounds of a Baldwin L 6’3” grand piano recorded on vintage ribbon microphones, Broadcast Piano carries the voice of the great piano-forward records of the ’60s and ’70s.
At the heart of the Broadcast sound, are a pair of 1950’s RCA 77dx’s. These particular models were heavily utilized for broadcast television sets because of their matte finish (to reduce glare from studio lighting). Their sound is immediate, and quietly authoritative. They are the beginning, but not the end, of the vintage ribbons used.
