The Asylum has announced the release of a dual-path tape and cassette emulation for Windows and macOS.
The Asylum Analogue models the complete analogue journey of 1980s music production, from a studio mastering machine through generational cassette duplication to playback on everything from foam headphones to a car stereo.
Built on a full magnetic hysteresis model rather than simple waveshaping, it features independently crossfadable Record and Playback paths, a Listening Environment stage with six device colourations, a CHAOS knob for component drift, and an INSANITY mode for live tape-machine breakdown, alongside five factory presets and four CPU-scalable quality mode.
The Asylum Analogue is available for Windows and macOS (VST3), on sale for the intro price of $29.99 USD until August 22nd, 2026 (regular $59.99 USD).
