Working with award-winning composers collective Bleeding Fingers, The Crow Hill Company has introduced a truly unique string library.
Prehistoric Strings is a string library like no other made from totally unique inventions; hybrid monstrosities to create tones that are primordial, haunting, and staggeringly beautiful in their truly primitive nature.
Anze Rozman and Kara Talve worked with Hans Zimmer on the primetime BBC series Planet Earth. As always with Zimmer’s and Bleeding Fingers’ approach to composition, the creation of truly unique sound-worlds played a fundamental role in the development of their score. This resulted in an audacious project: constructing a selection of stringed instruments built with bones, horns, skulls and cannibalised classical instruments including a cello, frame drum, resonating dulcimer and many others.
Having enjoyed huge success with their score, the composing team understood that the potential of these instruments was merely the tip of the iceberg and kindly agreed to share their unique inventions with the rest of the composing world.
The Crow Hill team flew over to Bleeding Fingers’ studios in Santa Monica to create a totally new set of recordings for a tailor-made plugin with a simple brief in mind: imagine approaching this like we would any of our successful strings libraries. Give everyone the tools of the trade to incorporate these incredible instruments into their standard workflow and expand their palette with horns, teeth, and ancient fossilised bones.
