The Drum Broker has announced the release of a new sample pack from Tamuz. A collection of cinematic drum breaks and compositions inspired by classic casino and heist movies, Ace of Breaks contains a total of over 500 drum breaks, one shots, percussion loops and original compositions.
Every break was played by hand on vintage kits, live in a room. Then run hot through a 1970s Pioneer reel-to-reel and a Tascam cassette deck until the tape gave it teeth. Close mics for the punch, room mics for the air. No samples of samples. No fake dust. Just drums that already sound like the record you’ve been digging for.
Around the drums, a whole back-room band, all printed to the same tape. A Fender Rhodes Mark I and a Wurlitzer trade cold electric chords. Upright piano and vintage organ bring the smoke. A ’70s Greco guitar, a P-Bass, and an upright bass hold the floor while congas and hand percussion work the corners. Four original compositions pull it together: getaway grooves that sprint, then drop into something darker. Every one ships with stems. Take what you want, leave the rest.
