The Very Loud Indeed Co. has released a collection 120 brand new cinematic patches for Spectrasonics’ Omnisphere 2.6 software synthesizer instrument.

Omnisphere Grotto contains 253 new sound sources, from real instrument recordings that have been lovingly brutalized through merciless editing and weird and crazy signal processing. The patches in the sound library exclusively use these new sound sources.

The patches in Omnisphere Grotto are science experiments gone wrong, monstrous and machine-like, but in which you can still hear their organic origins and an expressiveness that competes with that of acoustic instruments. This is an aesthetic heavily inspired by the works of composers like Mica Levi, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Ben Frost and Mac Quayle. Omnisphere Grotto can really punch up and add tense grittiness to your crime, horror, thriller or dark drama scores.

Many patches in Omnisphere Grotto use multiple layers, so you can mute the layers you don’t need if a patch is too busy for your purposes, or if you just want to use a particular layer. Omnisphere Grotto also makes extensive use of the modulation wheel. In many cases, it may completely change the patch into something totally different, so we encourage you to have fun with it.

The sound library is available for purchase at The Very Loud Indeed Co. for $29 USD.
