Toontrack has released new MIDI packs inspired by electronic dance music for its EZdrummer 2 & Superior Drummer 3 and EZkeys virtual instruments.
The EDM Grooves MIDI pack delivers drum grooves specifically tailored for electronic dance music. Inspired by techno, modern pop, house and more, the pack contains 40 different “songs” and a total of 320 unique drum MIDI variations.
Under the hood of the hooks, the leads, the chops and the drops of a song is the roaring machine that grinds and churns and ultimately gets the floor or the airwaves to buzz: the groove. This collection of drum MIDI for EZdrummer 2 and Superior Drummer 3 presents a virtual encyclopedia of fundamental drum groove ideas for the broadest possible definition of electronic dance music. To further help reduce the time you spend browsing instead of creating, each of the 20 included “songs” were organized in ‘Breakdown,’ ‘Buildup’ and ‘Drop’ sections, allowing you to quickly find exactly the type of part you’re after.
The EDM EZkeys MIDI pack features 20 individual “songs” inspired by a wealth of modern and hook-heavy electronic dance music where the keys have a dominant role.
Each song was broken down into three separate ‘Chords’, ‘Melody’, and ‘Arpeggio’ sections with subfolders for a selection of ‘Breakdown/Buildup’ or ‘Drop’ parts in each song. This will allow you to drag, drop, mix, match, tweak, slice, dice and assign different sound sources to the parts to create your own sonic textures in your DAW. With these three layers of melodic MIDI magic, you’ll have an ever-flowing well of raw material to base your yet unwritten house, techno, modern pop, and electronic hook-driven songs around. Expect all the obligatory stab-like chord sequences, a patchwork of electrifying hooks, melodies deluxe, and an arpeggio ratio that is off the charts. Dive in!
