Toontrack has released a collection of grooves and fills performed by drummer Stephen Gilchrist (The Damned, Cardiacs, Graham Coxon).
The Rock Chronicles MIDI pack contains everything from sixties-tinged grooves that helped spark the rock revolution, through the thunderous classic rock chops that followed, to odd-timed prog beats, angular art-rock rhythms and laid-back alternative feels.
One thing has carried through every era of rock: groove. From the early days of rock ’n’ roll through the prog- and backbeat-driven 1970s, the arena-sized backbeats of the 1980s, the oddball rhythms of the art-rock scene and the laid-back feel of alternative rock, it’s been a constant. Simply put: in rock, groove is the heartbeat.
In this MIDI pack for EZdrummer and Superior Drummer, UK session stalwart Stephen Gilchrist (The Damned, Cardiacs, Graham Coxon) takes you on an exploration of the full arc of rock drumming. With sticks in hand and a vantage point behind the kit, he moves freely between past and present, stopping at the most pivotal milestones that shaped rock drumming as we know it.
The MIDI pack is on sale for 23 USD/EUR at Best Service and from the Toontrack store for a limited time (regular 29 USD/EUR).
