Wrongtools has introduced a new Kontakt instrument library featuring the sounds of cinematic gongs and giant cymbals.

With three different gong libraries in one, Torus offers constantly evolving tones, a tonal richness and full broad-spectrum ring.

The instrument library comprises a Hall Session with different Feng gong articulations recorded in a hall, a Dry Room Session with samples will blend smoothly into drum tracks and rhythm sections, and Cinematic gongs.

For the innovative cinematic textural patches, we’ve experimented with different materials, rubbing superballs, fingernails, scrapes, scrubbing and effects on a variety of gongs.

We also mounted a bass speaker directly on large gongs, triggering different sorts of vibrations from there. And contact microphones placed directly on the metal, which were transmitted through hardware and a sub speaker on other patches. The result is a finely designed cinematic library of gong textures that you won’t find anywhere else.

Scheduled for release on December 17th, 2021, the library is available to pre-order now for 29 EUR. It runs in the full retail version of Kontakt 6.4.2 or higher.
