Tracktion has announced the release of two new sound expansions for its free Attracktive cross-platform player and the powerful BioTek synthesizer.
The DG-8000 expansion pack ($30 USD) contains 185 presets and 15,000 samples, bringing the sounds of the DW-8000 analog synthesizer by KORG.
The journey from analog to digital synthesizers marked a revolutionary shift. Yet, nestled between these two eras lies the remarkable innovation of hybrid synthesizers. These unique instruments combined the best of both worlds, featuring digital oscillators capable of reading sampled waveforms stored in compact ROMs, while retaining the rich, warm characteristics of analog circuitry.
Enter the Korg DW-8000, a pioneering hybrid synthesizer launched in 1985. With its 16 distinctive sampled waveforms, the DW-8000 broke new ground, offering musicians an unprecedented range of sonic possibilities.
The Stonegrabber D-323 expansion pack ($20 USD) features 9 presets and 360 samples from the Steingraeber D-232 semi concert grand.
This exquisite German piano, known for its rich and authentic sound, has been meticulously sampled at six velocity levels using four microphones in both OMNI and XY stereo configurations. This thoughtful attention to detail allows you to adjust the blend and strike the perfect balance, delivering a sound that’s ideal for both classical and jazz compositions.
The Stonegrabber D-232 offers a warm, very German sound that elevates any piece to new heights, making it the perfect choice for compositions that require a unique and intimate touch.
Both expansions are on sale at an introductory 50% discount until February 16th, 2025.
