Tritik has announced an update to its multi-stage effect which combines bit-depth reduction, sample-rate reduction, filtering, drive, modulation, and now compression. The plugin can be used subtly to add texture and density, or pushed further for more aggressive lo-fi sounds.
Krush2 is a rebuilt version of the original Krush, with reworked parameter handling, smoother parameter automation, and a range of new features.
Its bit crushing and downsampling algorithms are complemented by a warm drive stage, analog-modeled resonant filters, and a modulation section with two stereo LFOs. The result is a wide sonic palette, from dirty digital effects to crunchy modulated colours, with all the classic and more unusual bitcrusher sounds in between.
New in Krush2
- Two stereo LFOs with adjustable left/right phase offset.
- LFO rates up to 20 Hz.
- New sawtooth waveforms.
- Comb and band-pass filters.
- Filter position switch (pre/post).
- Improved drive with oversampling.
- Drive character control.
- Downsampling jitter control.
- Bitcrushing dither control.
- Compressor.
- Animated modulation feedback on the knobs.
Krush2 for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU and AAX) is available on a pay-what-you-want basis, starting at €5 EUR. Owners of a KrushPro license get Krush2 for free. The original Krush remains free as a legacy download.
