u-he has announced the release of a significant and free update to its suite of effect plugins. Uhbik 2.0 introduces a complete visual overhaul, a powerful new modulation system, and adds a brand-new Compressor to the collection.
Each plug-in has been reworked for a smoother workflow and greater creative flexibility. Highlights include an 8-slot modulation matrix with new sources such as LFO, envelope follower and modulation mapper, plus our powerful new preset browser.
New in Uhbik 2.0
- The suite now comprises 10 individual plugins:
- Ambience: A plate reverb featuring early reflections.
- Compressor: A new addition, with optional feed-back detection.
- Delay: A 5-tap delay with modulation.
- Equalizer: A flexible and clean parametric EQ.
- Flanger: Offers both tape and delay-based flanging.
- Grainshift: A granular pitch shifter.
- Phaser: Based on a classic multi-allpass filter design.
- Runciter: A filter designed for adding color and distortion.
- Shifter: A continuous barber-pole frequency shifter.
- Tremolo: A rhythm-maker that supports user-definable patterns.
- Completely redesigned UI to support the new modulation system.
- Built-in oscilloscope for visualizing audio or modulation signals.
- Rewritten filter algorithms and expanded surround sound support up to 7.1.
- Added support for the CLAP plug-in format alongside improved VST3 implementation.
- A new preset browser for easier patch management.

Uhbik 2 for Windows, Mac and Linux (VST3, AU, AAX and CLAP) is priced €199 EUR at the u-he store and from distributor Best Service. The update is free for all existing Uhbik owners. An unlicensed version of Uhbik will run as a fully functional demo, with the only limitation being occasional audio crackles.
