Universal Audio has released a major update of its digital audio workstation that gives users the sound of an analog studio with AI-powered tools that make recording easier.
LUNA 2.0 includes ARA support, improved Instrument Detection, Volt 876 integration, and the upgraded LUNA Pro comes with Hardware Inserts, additional UAD plug-ins, and essential third-party tools.

New in LUNA 2.0
- ARA Support: LUNA 2.0 introduces ARA support, enabling seamless integration of third party vocal editing tools directly within the LUNA timeline. This addition brings LUNA in line with professional workflows used in studios worldwide.
- Volt 876 Integration: With dedicated support for UA’s new Volt 876 USB audio interface, users can now control preamp gain, cue mixes, and Assistive Auto Gain settings directly from within LUNA. This integration provides full session recall of front panel settings and a unified hardware/software workflow.
- Upgraded Instrument Detection: In addition to automatic color coding and setting the warp algorithm, Instrument Detection now adds icons to tracks based on instrument type, streamlining session organization and eliminating manual setup.
- Hardware Inserts [Pro only]: Hardware Inserts allow users to route audio through analog outboard gear with automatic delay compensation. With a single click, producers can integrate their favorite compressors, EQs, and effects units into the LUNA mixer — then save it as a preset to recall anytime.
- Expanded UAD Plug In & Instrument Library [Pro only]: LUNA Pro 2.0 includes 29 UAD plug ins, virtual instruments, plus LUNA Extensions — giving users access to a curated selection of iconic analog emulations and creative tools for professional mixing and music production.
- Included ARA Tools [Pro only]: Celemony Melodyne Essential and Noiseworks DynAssist Lite are now included with LUNA Pro, enabling advanced vocal editing workflows.
- ChordAXE Lite [Pro only]: ChordAXE Lite, an intuitive MIDI effect that assists with chord selection and harmonic progression. Designed to streamline songwriting and composition, this tool helps musicians quickly build arrangements and explore musical ideas.
LUNA 2.0 for Windows and Mac is free to download, and LUNA Pro is on sale for $129 USD at AudioDeluxe and from the UAD store until October 31st, 2025 (regular $199 USD).
