UVI has announced the release of Walker, a comprehensive and flexible cinema-quality footstep foley designer for post production and sound design.

Walker offers a customizable engine including 6 shoe types, 14 ground surfaces with adjustable texture layers, 8 clothing materials, and intelligent automation tools to help accelerate common production tasks.

Walker was designed to give users a focused and easy-to-use environment for creating realistic footstep and movement sounds. Built on a library of over 25,000 samples, Walker gives you extensive control over the sound composition, allowing you to freely select from 6 types of shoes (men’s dress, heels, work boots, trainers, boots and bare feet), 14 ground surfaces with ground effects (wood, wood flooring, linoleum, tile, concrete, carpet, dirt, gravel, grass, forest, metal, mud, sand and snow), 8 types of clothing (jeans, cotton, leather, leather with metal, polyester, raincoat, synthetic and tweed), and 3 different mic pairs including Schoeps CMC6, Neumann U87, and DPA 4006, at both near and far distances.

Walker allows independent control over the left and right foot and offers both Auto and Manual step modes allowing discrete control over toe, heel and scuff timing to create perfect sync with your source even in complex environments. Fade between near and far positioned mics using the Distance knob, enable Auto-Scuff to dynamically control the frequency of scuffing during steps, turn on Stair mode to switch the heel and toe sounds, and experiment with ground effects such as wood creaks, crushing vegetation and water puddles and then layer the sound of clothing during movement. Each component is customizable and can be precisely dialed-in to match your scene.

With a large library of ready-made presets, Walker offers a clear and focused tool for sound professionals looking for cinema-quality footstep and foley design.

Walker for Falcon and the free UVI Workstation is on sale for the intro price of 99 USD/EUR through November 19th, 2018 (regular 149 USD/EUR).
