Vienna Symphonic Library has introduced a new virtual instrument featuring an exquisite Rogers drum set performed and recorded at the company’s second studio, the Silent Stage. This new addition to the acclaimed Studio Series captures the timeless sound and character of classic jazz drumming with remarkable detail and flexibility.
Powered by the Vienna Synchron Player and enhanced with the intuitive Flow View, Studio Jazz Drums provides effortless access to articulations, playing zones, microphone settings, and reverb options, offering composers and producers an inspiring tool for authentic jazz performances with sticks, brushes, and mallets.
At the heart of Studio Jazz Drums lies an exclusive customized Rogers drum set from the 1960s, paired with a Paiste 2002 signature snare prototype and original 60s Avedis Zildjian cymbals. Every nuance of the kit has been meticulously sampled, capturing not only single hits with sticks, brushes, and mallets, but also the sonic personality of each instrument across multiple playing areas. Users can intuitively explore these zones simply by moving the mod wheel – from the center of the drumhead to the rim – unleashing a stunning variety of colors and a performance that feels exceptionally vivid and alive.
Priced $93 USD, Studio Jazz Drums is available at the VSL store and from distributors such as AudioDeluxe and Best Service.
Owners of the discontinued VI Series version Vienna Jazz Drums can upgrade to Studio Jazz Drums at a discounted price.
Additionally, a selection of instruments that are often used in Jazz, such as flugelhorn, muted trumpet, saxophones, mallet instruments, and a Bösendorfer 280VC, are on sale at discounts of up to 45% off for a limited time.
