The Vienna Symphonic Library has announced the release of the sixth installment in its Duality Strings series. Designed specifically for creating expressive, realistic, and highly flexible string ostinatos, Synchron Duality Strings (ostinato) introduces a new level of control and musicality for composers working across film, television, games, and contemporary music production.
As with all Duality Strings collections, the new ostinato instalment features two string ensembles, performing simultaneously in separate rooms at Vienna Synchron Stage. While the large ensembles played their instruments in the spacious Stage A, the small ensembles played in the intimate, drier Stage B.
Ostinatos are a fundamental element of modern scoring – driving momentum, shaping tension, and defining the rhythmic pulse of countless scores. Synchron Duality Strings (ostinato) approaches this essential technique in a completely new way. Instead of relying on pre-recorded patterns or fixed tempos, the library is built from single notes derived from meticulously captured ostinato performances. These notes are reassembled in real-time by the algorithms of the Vienna Synchron Player, creating natural transitions, lifelike variations, and convincing rhythmic motion without any mechanical repetition.
The new collection is currently available at introductory prices of $223 USD (regular $279 USD) for the Standard Library and $335 USD (regular $436 USD) for the Full Library with additional microphone positions.
Celebrating this new addition to the Series, all Synchron Duality Strings collections are now available at promotional prices.
The offer is available at Best Service and from the VSL store until December 31st, 2025.
