Voxengo has announced an update to its guitar amplifier plugin featuring a variety of sound shaping features. Version 3.8 of Boogex brings all-stereo processing, alongside some fixes and improvements.
With Boogex it is possible to get a heavy distorted sound as well as slight “jazzy” saturation sound. Boogex is also able to apply any speaker cabinet impulse response (selection of built-in impulses is available). The processing latency is close to zero making it possible to use Boogex for real-time guitar processing.
Boogex also includes the input gate module, and reverberation module derived from Voxengo OldSkoolVerb reverb plug-in.
Changes in Boogex v3.8
- Implemented stereo processing on all stages.
- Fixed occasional GUI flickering on macOS (due to usage of Device RGB color-space, now it is sRGB).
- Improved audio-UI interoperability, to reduce a chance of audio stutter happening when UI is active.
- Reduced GUI refresh jitter.
- Made codebase optimizations.
- Fixed HiDPI VST3 GUI resizing issue in Cubase, on Windows.
The plugin is available to download in VST/VST3, AU and AAX formats for Windows and Mac.
