Voxengo updates Elephant to v3.5

Voxengo has released version 3.5 of Elephant, a mastering limiter plug-in for professional music production applications.

Elephant is a highly competitive plug-in for mastering applications: it features a variety of limiter modes that can be deeply customized, and a comprehensive set of level metering tools.

Elephant’s built-in linear-phase oversampling is a new standard in quality peak limiting and loudness maximization.

Changes in Elephant v3.5

  • Issues with DP/Mac OS X fixed.
  • Popup windows appearing behind the main window in Logic9 fixed.

Elephant is available for Windows and Mac (VST/AU) for $89.95 USD.

Elephant is my overall fave limiter. The UI is fiddly and the settings are hard to get right (the manual isn’t very explanatory to mastering newcomers), but once I dialed in something which, with much experimentation, sounded lovely — I felt a warm aura and smiled at how much better my music sounded.

Yup, Elephant is a very good plug-in for the money; otherwise I wouldn’t pay any amount for a mastering limiter or something like that. I created just two presets for Elephant, and it does its thing without fuss. The thing is, Voxengo might have hurt themselves trying to get me to buy some other plug-in they make, because the one I bought from them is that good! :) I went for Elephant chiefly on the perfect score it got from COMPUTER MUSIC Magazine.
