Waldorf has announced that it has launched an iPadOS version of its versatile and most popular synthesizer classic, previously released for Windows and macOS.
You can now play the Blofeld instrument both via the touchscreen and in AUv3 hosts such as Apple’s Logic for iPad, Steinberg’s Cubasis 3 or AUM.
With the app, you can even control your Blofeld hardware synth and seamlessly continue using your existing sound sets. The sound engine is based on the proven Blofeld architecture and delivers the signature, powerful Waldorf sound – known from classics like the Q, Microwave, and the legendary Wave.
At its core: an expressive wavetable synthesis inspired by the iconic PPG synthesizers of the ’80s. Whether edgy, bell-like, or punchy – this sound is instantly recognizable and has made music history.
Featuring a powerful preset browser, flexible 16-part multimode, direct access to all key sound design tools, modulation matrix, arpeggiator, and a sample browser, Blofeld for iPad is available at the App Store for $12.99 USD.
Additionally, Waldorf has updated the Blofeld plugin version for desktop to version 1.1.1, which brings faster creation of multi-sounds, improved preset browser filters, and some bug fixes and maintenance. A free update for existing users, new customers can purchase Blofeld for Windows and macOS (VST/VST3, AU and AAX) for 149 EUR at Plugin Boutique and from the Waldorf store.
