Westwood Instruments has announced the release of an update to the Solo Strings Untamed sample library for Kontakt. All 4 instruments (Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass) have been updated and are now available in the Pulse app.

SOLO STRINGS UNTAMED are a set of human, raw and expressive solo string instruments. We’ve recorded over 1000 unique, improvised performances over the four instruments. Instantly playable by just playing harder or softer on your keyboard. From soulful and fragile murmurs to impassioned and feverish cries.

Not for the traditionalist, and not for the faint of heart. This is for fans of alternative scores and inspired by composers like Jóhann Jóhannsson, Hildur Guðnadóttir, Jed Kurzel and Jonny Greenwood.

Changes in Solo Strings Untamed

  • Keyswitches On/Off: Turn off the articulation keyswitches to allow multiple instruments to be played at the same time.
  • Mono/Poly mode: Restrict playing to just one note at a time, or play multiple notes simultaneously.
  • Articulation switches: Torn on and off individual articulations. Really useful when experimenting with laying up different sounds.
  • 8 new Multis: Immediate gratification, and great for quickly sketching out new ideas. The new Multi instruments combine all 4 of the strings in a single instance of Kontakt.

Solo Strings Untamed for Kontakt 5.6.8 or higher (full version) is on sale for 139 EUR instead of 199 EUR for a limited time.
