Wire Grind has announced a major update to its creative gating effect plugin. Version 2 of Unagated features selectable envelope shapes, a click-suppression algorithm, special time-based envelope controls, and temp-syncing for all time-based parameters.
Unagated 2 features
- 4 volume envelopes: Unagated has four gain envelop shapes: linear, s-curve, arched, and scooped. Choose one for the attack, and another for the release.
- Anti-clicking technology: Noise gates can produce undesirable clicking sounds when rapidly opening and closing. With Unagated’s “suppress clicking” feature, clicks are virtually eliminated. No look-ahead needed.
- Special gating controls: Delay the onset of the attack envelope and shorten the duration of notes with “Delay Attack” and “Force Release.” Use along with “Range” to alter the punchiness of drums. Modify rhythmic texture using “Hold Closed” and “Skip Beats.”
- More intuitive ducking: Ducking changes the functionality of most other controls. These controls are automatically relabeled and rearranged in the interface.
- Everything tempo-synced: All time-based controls can be tempo-synced. There is no separate menu for dotted and triplet notes. Instead, all notes are listed together as fractional whole notes.
- Tool-tips: All controls display tool-tips for easy reference. Just hover with your mouse.
- Other features: Side chaining, hysteresis control, ducking, strong trigger signal filtering, look-ahead, independent/linked channel processing, and surround sound/multi-channel support. You can combine different channel formats for the input, output, and sidechain. The trigger-signal scope has an adjustable scroll time that range from 0.25s to 20.0s.
Unagated for Windows (VST3) is on sale for $26 USD / €22 EUR until May 26th, 2026 (regular $55 USD /€47 EUR). A free demo version is also available to try the plugin.
