Wrong Tools has announced its upcoming Kontakt instrument library featuring modern Nordic vocal artistry and visceral extended techniques.
Created with the vocal group Små Grå, Unsung blends classical precision with Nordic singing traditions to deliver a unique palette of vocal patches.
Departing sharply from traditional, epic choral libraries, UNSUNG is a deep exploration of the unadulterated human voice, blending classical precision with the expressive, avant-garde traditions of Nordic singing. It is built on the extraordinary vocal world of the acclaimed Norwegian vocal group, Små Grå.
UNSUNG is designed for film composers, sound designers, and producers seeking textures that defy categorization—from subtle ambiguity to primal force. The library’s focus is on non-traditional, wordless vocalizations and sound design elements, including:
Unsung comes with 160 Kontakt patches and 4,213 samples.
- Wordless Vocables & Evolving Textures: Vast arrays of hums, moans, wails, and breathy drones that transcend language, creating ancient yet futuristic tone poems.
- Guttural Exclamations: Raw, strained vocalizations brimming with visceral emotion, perfect for moments of despair, defiance, or psychological depth.
- Vocal Percussion & Breath Work: Short, percussive elements like snaps, clicks, ululations, coos, and sharp inhalations used to build rhythmic patterns and pulses.
- Controlled Microtonal Shifts: Subtle clashes and wavering pitches that add an organic, unsettling edge to sustains, ideal for generating tension and ambiguity.
Unsung for the full version of Kontakt version 6.4.2 or higher is available to pre-order for €98 EUR until January 20th, 2026 (regular €245 EUR).
