Wrong Tools has introduced a new Kontakt instrument library featuring the sounds of the Selmer Pianotron electromechanical piano, an East Germany oddity with clunky and charming sounds.
Pianotron also includes a bunch of additional articulations and experiments, with release-triggers and mechanical noises on separate fader.
The Selmer Pianotron (aka Weltmeister Claviset) is a fascinating and rare piece of music history, standing out as the only known electric piano produced in East Germany (GDR) during the Cold War era. Manufactured by the long-established accordion company Weltmeister in Klingenthal.
Pianotron contains 2582 samples and includes 48 patches for the full version of Kontakt 6.4.2 or higher. It is priced €28 EUR, and customers can get a 40% discount on a purchase with coupon code FALL40 at the checkout for a limited time.
