Wrongtools has announced its forthcoming new hybrid cinematic string library for Kontakt. MASS merges detailed real-world ensemble recordings with modern synth-driven sounds.
MASS is engineered to push the boundaries of texture and density. Instead of relying on traditional, pristine articulations, the library focuses on hybrid textures built through intelligent layering. Each of the 216 patches is built from up to 5 carefully layered string sources, allowing composers to seamlessly blend:
- Saturated Real Strings: Multiple treated string sessions and recordings.
- Synth-Strings: Tape-bounced modern synthesizers for futuristic, cutting-edge involvement.
This multi-source structure gives MASS its depth — from quiet evolving beds to enormous, hyper-cinematic swells. The library is designed to sit well in contemporary scoring, game audio, and trailer music.
The library’s patches cover a vast sonic kaleidoscope, organized into 13 expressive categories, including Bliss (emotional core), Star Destroyers (planet-shaking impact), Streams (unbroken flows), and Dramatic Low-End (sub-rattlers).
Scheduled for release on November 25th, 2025, MASS is available for pre-order now at 50% off (€99 EUR) for early adopters. It requires the full version of Kontakt 6.4.2 or higher.
