XeniAudio has released a collection of audio compressors designed to deliver the warm, musical character of classic analog hardware with the precision and flexibility of modern digital processing.
McPlugins goes beyond conventional compression. Thanks to real-time inter-plugin communication, any instance of “Msc” version can sidechain another — across tracks, no routing required. Frequency-specific ducking, cross-track gain riding, multiband sidechain triggering: workflows that simply weren’t possible before, now in a single plugin suite.
McPlugins Compressor Suite features
- Real-Time Spectral Analysis: Lock-free FFT feeding 4 display modes: Spectrum, Waterfall, Graph (IN/OUT/GR), and Tonal Balance. Visualize what the compressor is doing.
- Mid/Side Processing: Compress the center and sides independently. Tighten the low-end on the mono signal while leaving the stereo field untouched.
- Inter-Plugin SHM Sidechain: Route audio sidechain between plugin instances via shared memory — across tracks, zero latency, no DAW routing cables required.
- Preset Manager: 21 factory presets, user presets, A/B compare, undo/redo. Save, recall, and audition settings non-destructively.
- SIMD Optimized DSP: SSE/AVX2 intrinsics throughout. Input gain, gain application, M/S encode/decode, dry/wet mix — all vectorized with scalar fallback.
- Parallel Compression: Independent Wet and Dry controls for New York-style parallel compression. Blend heavily compressed signal with the unaffected dry signal.
- Stereo Unlink: From fully linked (0%) to fully independent L/R compression (100%). Natural stereo image preservation or extreme stereo shaping.
- Sidechain High-Pass Filter: Avoid low-frequency triggering with a 12 dB/oct HPF on the sidechain path. Configurable from 20 Hz to 2 kHz.
- Saturation & Harmonics: Tube mode brings independent Saturation and Harmonics controls for dialing in analog warmth from subtle to heavily colored.
- Character: VCA and FET modes expose a Character control that shapes the compression personality — from transparent and clean to aggressive and coloured.
