AudioRealism has introduced ReDominator VST/AU, a synthesizer instrument for Windows and Mac.

AudioRealism ReDominator VST/AU

An emulation of the classic (and underrated) Alpha Juno 1/2 (JU-1/2) from 1986. A synthesizer that became well known for it’s Hoover sound which is popular in the rave and techno scene o…f the early 90′s!

ReDominator emulates the audio engine of the JU-1/2 and includes a patch converter (beta) that lets you take sysex dumps of your own Alpha Juno and convert to a format that ReDominator can read.

ReDominator VST/AU features

  • Alpha Juno 2 emulation including the famous Hoover sound.
  • Loads ReDominator patches from the Reason version.
  • Sysex file import from Alpha Juno integrated into the plug-in.
  • Extended mod wheel use to control DCO, VCF and VCA via LFO.
  • LFO and DCO retrigger option for ultra tight bass lines.
  • Chord Memory function.
  • Note: features and appearance may change before release.

ReDominator VST/AU is currently in beta.

Sonimus releases Britson console plugin

Related: , , , , , , , Posted in news on Mar 19, 2014 - comment 0 comments

Sonimus has announced the release of Britson, a new console emulation designed to emulate both the workflow and sonic character of analog mixing consoles.

Sonimus Britson
The Britson Channel and Buss plugins by Sonimus.

Britson is inspired by a classic british 8014 console, it was modelled to get that classic warm, open, 3D characteristics.

Britson features features

  • Flexibility to be used subtly or aggressively (to overdrive virtual or real instruments, for example).
  • Two Saturation Modes: Normal (subtle distortion, high dynamic range) and Fat (hotter signal, lower dynamic range).
  • Optional Stereo Crosstalk which lends a sense of depth and three-dimensionality to your mixes.
  • Filters (both low and high pass). Britson’s filters are tuned to sound sweet and pleasant to the ear.
  • Saturation which can be disabled (when using Britson for trim and metering purposes exclusively).
  • Three EQ Color Mode options (on Britson Buss instance) for use on your master track: Default (no color), Master – Loudness, and Master Bright.
  • Zero latency and no group delay.
  • Carefully optimized algorithm for low CPU consumption. Britson allows for a remarkably high number of instances per session.
  • Internal 64-bit floating point double-precision.
  • Hassle-free installation. No activation or serial. Each buyer receives a personalized copy for use in the studio, on the laptop, etc.

Britson for Windows and Mac (VST/AU/RTAS) is available to purchase for $39 USD.

Sonimus intros Britson analog console emulation

Sonimus Britson

Sonimus has announced Britson, an upcoming console emulation plug-in for Windows and Mac.

Britson, besides being a subtle saturator, can be very aggressive if volume is increased from the input.

Just like with a real unit, THD (total harmonic distortion) is low at normal levels, but can easily reach the clipping point without loss of dynamics at normal levels.

Britson’s sound can be very aggressive without the need for a specific switch dedicated to that purpose.

Britson features

  • Flexibility to be used subtly or aggressively (to overdrive virtual or real instruments, for example).
  • Two Saturation Modes: Normal (subtle distortion, high dynamic range) and Fat (hotter signal, lower dynamic range).
  • Optional Stereo Crosstalk which lends a sense of depth and three-dimensionality to your mixes.
  • Filters (both low and high pass). Britson’s filters are tuned to sound sweet and pleasant to the ear.
  • Saturation which can be disabled (when using Britson for trim and metering purposes exclusively).
  • Three EQ Color Mode options(on Britson Buss instance) for use on your master track: Default (no color), Master Loudness, and Master Bright.

Briston will be available to purchase on March 18th, 2014, priced at $39 USD.

apeSoft releases iVCS3 synth app for iPad

Related: , , , , , , Posted in news on Mar 07, 2014 - comment 0 comments

apeSoft has announced the release of iVCS3, an official emulation of the EMS VCS3 modular synthesizer, now available for iPad.

apeSoft iVCS3
VCS3 portable semi-modular analog synthesizer now available for iPad.

The VCS3 has three oscillators (in reality, the first 2 oscillators are normal oscillators and the 3rd an LFO or Low Frequency Oscillator), a noise generator, two input amplifiers, a ring modulator, a 18dB/octave (pre-1974) or 24dB/octave (after 1974) voltage controlled low pass filter (VCF), a trapezoid envelope generator, joy-stick controller, voltage controlled spring reverb unit and 2 stereo output amplifiers.

Unlike most modular synthesizer systems which use cables to link components together, the VCS3 uses a distinctive patch board matrix into which pins are inserted in order to connect its components together.

The iVCS3 is available to purchase for $14.99 USD.
To celebrate the launch of iVCS3, the iDensity, iPulsaret, and Stria apps are on sale for $4.99 USD for 2 weeks.

AudioRealism has posted a teaser video for ABL3, hinting at development of an updated version of its Bass Line synthesizer instrument.

More 303? We’re going to have it. From the release of ABL1 in 2003 to ABL2 in 2007 we’re still striving to raise the bar in analog modeling and more specifically 303 emulation.

In 2014 we plan on raising this bar even further. Release date: TBA
