Studio Quadbyte releases QB Filter & QB Mute

Studio Quadbyte QB Filter

Studio Quadbyte has released QB Filter & QB Mute, two freeware VST effect plug-ins for Windows PC.

QB Filter features

  • LowPass and HiPass Filter.
  • Dual Filter mode “a la Pioneer DJM”.
  • LFO syncable to host tempo.
  • LFO shape selector and LFO phase.
  • Pre and Post saturation.

QB Mute is a simple mute plug-in with variable fade speed and invert option.

Both plug-ins are coded in C++ (optimized for SSE2 processor) and available for Windows PC. They have no GUI, so the host’s default interface will be used.

SPC Plugins Morphilter

SPC Plugins has released version 1.1 of Morphilter, a stereo multi-mode filter VST effect plug-in for Windows PC.

Changes in Morphilter v1.1

  • A bug in the 1/f LFO waveform (wave 32, bank 2) which could cause it to drift out of range after a (very) long period of operation has been fixed.
  • The 1/f LFO waveform is initialized to a random value rather than zero.
  • The morph rate knob is set to minimum when the morph LFO is turned off by the RND (randomize) feature.
  • The coding for the Morphilter has been rearranged and tightened to reduce the already low CPU load and memory bandwidth even further.

AZ Audio releases Aeiou

AZ Audio Aeiou

AZ Audio has released Aeiou, a vocal filter VST plug-in for Windows PC.

its purpose is to apply the spectrum characteristics of the mouth to the input signal by filtering it. By applying the effect to rich signals (saw or square oscillations) it gives the illusion of a human who is sustaining a vowel such as ‘a’ ,’e’ ,’i', etc.

Aeiou features

  • Vowel parameter (a, e, i etc)
  • Size spreads the output bandwidth.
  • Slope gives some brightness to the result by increasing or decreasing the filters gain on the frequency axis.
  • Peaking increases the filters resonance but it will also reduce the bandwidth.
  • Smooth control the vowel transitions. When set to 0 , the vowel transitions are direct, when set over 0 they are smoothed.
  • Mix adjusts the amount of wet signal at the output.

Aediou is available as donationware for Windows PC.

Short links for July 7th, 2008

Some interesting things I found on July 7th, 2008:

Parasite

# Parasite - Single Voltage-Controlled Resonant Bandpass filter with dual Low-Frequency Oscillators.

The Parasite is a single-channel filter of the exact same topology as the Plague Bearer, with extra goodies to enhance its usefulness.

Parasite features

  • The VCRBPF has a Mix control - akin to “Depth” or “Wet/Dry”.
  • Two independant LFOs, each with Saw, Ramp, Triangle, Square, and Sine waveforms.
  • Each LFO has a rate control as well as a rate indicator LED.
  • The filter’s High and Low cutoff frequencies each have a panel control and a switch to select LFO A, LFO B, or neither.
  • The High and Low cutoffs also have a modulation depth control to vary the amount of effect from the LFO. (Thanks for reminding me!)
  • 1/4″ Switchcraft jacks for Input and Output.
  • Power switch.

You can order one for $230 (still 8 left at the moment).

This site is an archive of one of a kind cassette tape recordings and other odd sounds that I have discovered throughout my years searching thrift stores and garage sales. I hope you find them as fascinating as I do. Enjoy!

BASF tape @ Project C-90

# Project C-90 | Home - This page is dedicated to cassette tapes. Here you won't find any kind of scientific research, technical data or things like that. The authors' only message is just to give a visitor something interesting to look at.

# Poorman’s oscilloscope (with Arduino + Processing) - This software allows you to get a visual representation of an analog signal using Arduino and Processing. The resolution is 10 bits so this is not like a real oscilloscope but it is still pretty useful.

# Bleep Labs » Thing-a-ma-kits! - Now noisy makers can assemble and modify their own light controlled analog noise friend!
