Plektron has announced the release of Guitar Amp 2.0 and Guitar Amp 2 Free Edition, two guitar/bass effects and amplifier plug-ins for Windows.

Guitar amp 2 offers wide set of amplifiers and effects. Using it is simple and intuitive due to its drag and drop system, you have just to drag a module in the rack to create your customize effect’s chain.

If it is the right sound, you can save your own set! Plug your guitar to the audio board and start Guitar Amp 2 in stand alone mode, or just record in your favourite VST host with the plug-in version.

Sinevibes has announced version 2.0 of Sequential, a multi-effect sequencer AudioUnit plugin for Mac OS X.

This new version has been totally reworked from the ground up according to a newly-developed design language, it also brings two new effect types and a host of other improvements.

Nomad Factory has announces version 1.5 of MAGMA, adding a modulation matrix and VST chainer to the virtual studio rack.

MAGMA version 1.5 adds two significant new modules. The first is a Modulation Matrix with up to 32 source/destination routings, 8 programmable LFOs, and a programmable 16-step sophisticated MSEG Multiple Segment Envelope Generator that allows users to create up to 8 unique envelopes for modulation sources. All sources, including MIDI messages, can control any parameter of any MAGMA effect loaded in the virtual rack. The second new module is called the VST Chainer, which allows users to load and access all other Nomad Factory plug-ins or any 3rd party VST plug-ins for use in the MAGMA routing and processing environment.

Both of these modules are offered as a no-cost upgrade version 1.0 of MAGMA that already features new types of audio processing, routing, and flexibility in a simple, intuitive package. MAGMA 1.5 comes with 65 All New Effects. Featuring 1-rack-unit interfaces that can be loaded and rearranged using up to four racks, MAGMA also comes with a flexible routing matrix enabling serial, parallel or combined routings.

AfroDJMac has introduced his 71st free Ableton Live Pack, Drum Multi FX.

This rack is exactly what I use when I play live. It has both a high and low pass filter. As you turn the filter knobs, the resonance increases, making the effect more dramatic as you turn it up. Second is a Reverb/Delay knob. When the knob is in the middle, the signal remains dry. Turn it left and you add reverb. Turn it right, you add delay. Two FX on one knob, sweet! Third, we have a Bit Crusher/ Beat Repeat knob. Again, the middle is clean. Turning left does the bit crushing. Turning right activates a Beat Repeat. The further you go left, the bit crushing morphs. The further right you go, the repeat time changes. So on four knobs you get six effects. This is perfect when you need to make the most of your MIDI controllers.

The bottom four macros are your Beat Repeats. As soon as you turn the knob past zero, the Beat Repeat turns on. Each knob controls a different Beat Repeat with a different grid size. I like to map these knobs to a Momentary Midi button. This means the effect will only trigger while I hold down the button. To smooth out the sounds, each knob also triggers a subtle Chorus effect. I’ve found this helps mitigate any pops or clicks.
