Myloops releases Revelations Vol 13 & Trance Stems Vol 1

Myloops has announced the release of Revelations Volume 13 and Trance Stems Volume 1, two new template packs.

Revelations Vol 13 & Trance Stems Vol 1

Revelations Volume 13 (Stonevalley)

At Myloops we have been strongly attached to the uplifting trance genre so far, but it’s also nice to occasionally explore the boundaries of trance. Stonevalley (Olivier Picart), known for his releases on Enhanced Recordings and for getting many plays from some of the top DJs (including Armin Van Buuren in his A State Of Trance show) has decided to show us how to make electro trance in Logic Pro.

Trance Stems Volume 1

This is a set of 5 short Trance Templates, each of them showcasing the buildup section of a potentially releasable trance production. They were produced by Static Blue (Jonathan Blakoe), who is responsible for releases on labels such as Enhanced Recordings, Flashover Recordings, and Anjunabeats between 2006 and 2012. The templates showcase his typical uplifting trance sound in Logic Pro, Ableton Live, FL Studio and Cubase.

Revelations Vol 13 is available for purchase for 29.99 EUR, the Trance Stems Vol 1 pack is 39.99 EUR.

Freemasons Tutorial – NI Maschine & Akai MPC swings in Logic Pro & Ableton Live

James of Freemasons wrote in to share a tutorial on how to get NI Maschine and Akai MPC swings natively inside Logic Pro and Ableton Live.

Ever since the release of NI’s Maschine and more recently, the return of the Akai’s MPC range, beat production has taken a huge leap forward sonically and rhythmically. However, both of these machines use their own proprietary systems and protocols for swing quantise.

One of the biggest problems when using these inside DAW’s with your other VST’s and audio is that each has its own quantise system that is not (always) mirrored by the software, so quantising parts running alongside your chosen drum machine to the same swing has often been a case of guess work and time-consuming experimentation.

We always ran into this problem so decided to solve it, and after a few days of quite painstaking work, we have converted the swings from NI’s Maschine and Akai’s MPC into groove templates for Logic 9 / Logic X and Ableton live 8/9 (Maschine only, MPC grooves were already present).

We also created an instructional video showing how you can import these grooves into the applications and into your own Logic startup pages. We hope you enjoy using them as we do.

The groove templates are available to download here.

Hans Hafner of Good Loops has released a free Lemur template for the Zebra 2 synthesizer instrument from u-he.

Hans Hafner Zebra 2 template for Lemur
The main panel contains the XY-pads as well as controls for the Envelopes and basic controls for the LFOs.

Yesterday I finally bought Lemur for iPad and WOW. Creating your own setups is so easy compared to other solutions that I tried in the past. So I created a controller surface for Zebra2 in a couple of hours.

The template includes 7 panels, and is available to download from Good Loops at no charge.
