HoRNet Plugins has announced an update to the Tape emulation plugin designed to give your track a vintage analog vibe.
Version 1.2.0 adds Apple M1 support and improves mono track performance. It also includes bug fixes for a crash in Garage Band and a problem where the GUI was not scaling on High-DPI displays on Windows. Additionally, 32-bit support was removed and the minimum requirements on Mac are now macOS 10.11.
What HoRNet Tape does is to apply the distinct saturation of tape to your tracks and also adds the specific frequency response of four different popular tape machines, each at two different speed, 15 or 30 inch per second.
Tape saturation acts differently on high and low frequency, saturating much faster at high frequencies and giving drums and vocals that peculiar “shhh” sound, low frequencies are made thicker and gain weight, this combined with the non-linear frequency response of tape decks creates the classic vintage sound.
HoRNet Tape cost 19.90 EUR. It is currently on sale at a 60% discount as part of a Summer Sale until June 23rd, 2021. The update is free for owners of the plugin.
