The Very Loud Indeed Co. has announced the release of its new cinematic instrument library for Kontakt. Oblique: Dark Cello Explorations is a broken, haunting, sometimes terrifying yet an incredibly expressive cello instrument.
This is most definitely not the instrument you want to create beautiful, epic, soaring melodies — it is a nasty beast, one that latches onto the dark corners of the mind and doesn’t let go.
We recorded master cellist Sonia Bruno taking her instrument to the absolute extremes, from the utmost pianissimo super sul tasto to the most brutal bowing we’ve ever heard, creating sheer insanity and aggression.
