Splice Sounds has released a new sample pack by Hip Hop and Trap icon Lex Luger. His third Splice pack Smoke Break is brimming with all the ominous essentials.
With a stage name inspired by the famous WWF professional wrestler, you can expect dramatics here. Adhering to the Atlanta trap approach, he employs hard-hitting 808s, crisp snare drums, frantic synthesizers, and sinister rhythms—just what you want in austere orchestral trap sounds.
Luger is a member of the hip hop production duo Low Pros with A-Trak. He gained notoriety when he linked up with Waka Flocka Flame for the smash record Hard in the Paint, winning the BET “Producer of the Year” award in 2011. Following the success of his work with Waka, Lex began working with Kanye West, producing the track “H.A.M.” for the album Watch the Throne (a collaboration with JAY Z). He has produced records for Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, Wale, Fabolous, Juicy J, Snoop Dogg, and 2 Chainz.
The sample pack and all individual sounds are now available to Splice subscribers. New users can sign up for a 14-day trial to try Splice Sounds for free.
