UnplugRed has introduced a new multi-band distortion plugin designed for advanced tone shaping. Available for Windows and Linux, Prisma allows you to add up to 4 modules from a selection of 16 modules to any one of the 4 bands.
In the right hands the plugin can produce highly complex and intricate tones. Common usecases include very harsh distortions being applied on a narrow band to create more subtle effects, and bass recordings being distorted on the higher frequencies without hurting the low end.
The plugin comes in VST and VST3 formats, priced $40 USD. A fully functional free / “pay what you like” version is available as well.
