The Vienna Symphonic Library has announced the release of the second installment in its Duality Strings series. The all-new Synchron Dualtiy Strings (sordino) library features two muted string ensembles that were recorded at once, performing simultaneously in separate rooms at Synchron Stage Vienna.
Add another layer of expression and sonority to your small and large string sections with these muted string ensembles, recorded exactly the same way as the first installment in the Duality Strings series. While the large ensembles played their instruments in Stage A, the small ensembles simultaneously played in the dryer Stage B of Synchron Stage Vienna, performing perfectly in sync, with a beautiful velvety timbre that’s still bursting with variety.
Sordinos massively expand the sound palette of string instruments, especially string ensembles. Considering that the volume of the instruments is only slightly reduced, playing with mutes is not synonymous with “playing quietly”. Rather, sordinos evoke a change in the frequency and sound spectrum that multiplies the possibilities of instrumentation, as the great orchestrators and composers have impressively demonstrated since the end of the 19th century.
The new Collection is currently available at introductory prices of $415 USD (regular $572 USD) for the Standard Library and $667 USD (regular $913 USD) for the Full Library. To mark the occasion, the first installment in the series, Synchron Dualtiy Strings (regular), is available at the original introductory price.
The offer is available at Best Service, PluginFox, and from the VSL store until October 31st, 2023.
