Sononym has announced an update to its sample browser that offers a fresh perspective on how sounds can be explored and organized.
Version 1.5 comes with various new features and improvements, including a rewritten audio server with “stream-from-disk” support.
The benefit is especially obvious when you happen to be playing back long-form audio (stems, music, field recordings), as the audio will begin to play almost immediately after you have selected the file. Another benefit of the new audio server is that triggering (and re-triggering) audio files should feel more snappy.
Other changes include Support for embedded metadata (artist, genre, etc.), the ability to move, copy and rename files and folders, advanced/batch renaming (imprint files with all kinds of data), customizable table layout (change column order, size), Native Apple Silicon support, additional playback options, and various bug fixes and stability improvements.
Sononym for Windows, macOS and Linux is available to purchase for 89 EUR / $99 USD. The update is free to existing users.
