AudioThing has announced an update to its convolution audio plugin that is designed to emulate a wide range of loudspeakers and microphones.
Version 1.2.5 of Speakers adds 4 speaker models (Soviet Radios: Hexagon, Yellow, Orange, Dark), Linux VST2, VST3, CLAP plugin formats, and AAX Silicon support.
Shape any sound like it’s being played by an old telephone, radio, or classic cabinet; or shape it like it’s being recorded by a vintage ribbon microphone or even a toy recorder.
Speakers features a freely configurable effects chain, comprising compression, distortion, and filtering, as well as an array of looping background noises for setting the sound in a variety of environments.
The update also comes with a redesigned VoIP algorithm, and improved contrast and brightness of some GUI elements. It also fixes an issue where some presets were not loading correctly, and an AAX automation bug has been fixes.
Regularly 99 USD/EUR, Speakers for Windows, Mac and Linux (VST/VST3, AU, AAX, and CLAP) is on sale for 59 USD/EUR at the AudioThing store and from Plugin Boutique until January 31st, 2024. The update is free to existing owners.
The iOS version has also been updated. Version 1.2.6 now has long press on Q to adjust, import/delete custom samples, and improved Apple Pencil support. It is $11.95 USD at the App Store during the promotion (regular $19.99 USD).
