Native Instruments has announced the launch of a premium collection of cinematic guitars and unique plucked string instruments to crown the newly released Komplete 15 Collector’s Edition. Kithara features everything from classical, flamenco, and steel guitars to the balalaika, cuatro, and ronroco.

Crafted with the boutique sample library experts from Audio Imperia, each instrument is recorded in stunning detail and transformed with rich sound design. From e-bow pads to granular mandolin and rhythmic tremolos, Kithara blends raw, organic tones with modern possibilities.

Kithara features

  • Rare sounds: An eclectic collection of guitars and plucked string instruments from across the world.
  • Lush, layerable strings: Shape and layer up to four different instruments at once. The Attack, Sustain, and Release layers can deliver crisp plucks, introduce depth with textural loops or e-bow drones, and add natural decay or subtle sound design elements.
  • Immersive effects: Explore over 300 expertly designed presets, easily filtered by bowed, plucked, textural, and rhythmic qualities, as well as by mood and instrument type. Transform the tone of each layer with curated Character FX.
  • Intricate details: Kitharaʼs Fragments engine introduces granular, fluttering effects that infuse textures and pads with detail. With precise control over movement and harmony, the Fragments engine generates evolving harmonic patterns that add depth and motion.
  • Sculpt your soundscape: A flexible modulation system breathes life into each parameter. The options page offers advanced customization with velocity controls, aftertouch assignments, and a Tightness knob for precise timing and responsiveness.
  • Play it with Kontrol keyboards: Kithara offers full integration with Kontrol keyboards and NKS. Effortlessly browse and tweak sounds with the detailed display, add expression with the mod wheel, and customize the polyphonic aftertouch for deeper control of your sound.

Kithara is available individually for $199 USD / 199 EUR and as part of the Komplete 15 Collector’s Edition.
