APU Software has announced the release of a real-time limiter effect plugin designed to support multiple loudness types simultaneously.

APU Loudness Limiter can be configured to use various loudness type limiter settings to allow you to target multiple requirements simultaneously, such as a specific LUFS target and a specific True Peak target.

One of the key features of this limiter is its support for a variety of loudness types. The limiter’s detection circuitry can be configured to use either LUFS and/or traditional measurement units (RMS, Peak). You can also choose to split or link channels, which is particularly useful for multi-channel audio formats such as Dolby Atmos®.

Available for Windows and Mac in VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats, the Loudness Limiter is priced $30 USD. Bundles with other APU plugins are available from $45 USD.

Additionally, APU Software has updated its Loudness Meter, Loudness Compressor, and Dynamics Optimizer to version 3.0.0, bringing various improvements and fixes.

  • Set channel-split LUFS channels as dual-mono for consistent loudness.
  • Look-ahead performance improvement (Compressor/Optimizer).
  • Remove negative look-ahead for limiter (Optimizer).
  • Fix rare source max percentile range detection inaccuracy (Optimizer).
  • Fix expansion ratio text parsing (Compressor).
  • Support lower visualizer delta field decay rates.
  • Filename in title bar (Optimizer/Meter).
  • Initial limiter release (limiter).
  • Fix panning issue for channel-linked modes w/output gain (Compressor/Optimizer).
  • Fix target histogram not always refreshing (Optimizer).
  • Minor fixes and improvements.
