Drum Workshop has introduced a new sound expansion for its DW Soundworks virtual instrument. The Trevor Lawrence Jr. Artist Expansion aims to offer a flawless collection of sounds to suit Hip-Hop, Trap or Dub musicians and producers.
Trevor Lawrence Jr. is a multi-Grammy winning drummer and producer. He has worked with many leading artists of the Hip-Hop and Pop genres, including Dr. Dre, Eminem, Snoop Dog, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Alicia Keys, and many more. Trevor is best known for his ability to reproduce vintage drum machine sounds used in classic R&B and Hip-Hop tracks while remaining an authentic live player.
The sounds in the new Trevor Lawrence Jr. Expansion Pack were recorded at Silent Zoo Studios, renowned for having one of the best live rooms for recording. Lawrence performed on various meticulously curated, genre-treated DW and LP drums and top cymbals brands, which were captured with a range of carefully selected mics, including Sennheiser, AKG, Neuman, Telefunken, and others. The instruments have been sampled at 24-bit, 88.2 kHz and offer over 10GB of Hip-Hop samples based on the acoustic kit Trevor used at the 2022 Super Bowl LVI.
This new expansion pack opens a whole new world of sounds with 14 custom presets curated by Lawrence himself. The presets give producers, beatmakers, and artists a selection of sounds with specific tonal qualities ranging from dry and crispy to low and tubby.
The Trevor Lawrence Jr Hip Hop expansion is available to purchase and download from Roland Cloud.
