Cableguys has introduced a significant update to its advanced MIDI control plugin. Version 1.6 of MidiShaper comes with a redesigned modern interface, the same LFO drawing as the flagship ShaperBox plugin, and added compatibility with VST3 and native Apple Silicon.
Designed for MIDI power users, MidiShaper brings fully drawable LFOs to your favorite MIDI synths and effects. Software or hardware, vintage or modern – if it accepts MIDI CCs, MidiShaper will expand its modulation capabilities.

- Modern interface: A slick new interface lets you take control of MIDI modulation like never before. As well as a modernized design, there are handy refinements like AHDSR envelope visualization, easier LFO timing setup and MIDI input LEDs. It’s resizable and Retina-ready, of course.
- Faster LFO drawing: Animate any MIDI-controllable parameter with Cableguys’ famous LFO drawing tools. Now featuring the same powerful LFO editing as used in ShaperBox, you’ll draw shapes in a flash with a flexible Pointer tool, paint with Pens, get inspired by Wave Presets, and more.
- Global Copy/Paste: LFOs can now be copy/pasted globally across all instances of MidiShaper – and even between instances of ShaperBox and FilterShaper XL.
- 4 modulation sources: Each of the four Source sections comprises an LFO plus an AHDSR envelope. Use either as your modulation source, or enable both for MIDI-triggered envelopes that control the strength of the LFO’s modulation, so you can fade patterns in and out.
- Lock LFOs to Sync, MIDI or Pitch: MidiShaper’s LFOs can run in 1-shot or looping modes. Sync them to your song’s timeline, from a buzzy 1/128 to an expansive 32 bars. Or run free from 0.02Hz right up to 5.24kHz. Retrigger with MIDI and even set the LFO frequency to match MIDI note pitch.
- Modulation routing matrix: Using a flexible routing matrix, each of the four Sources can modulate Pitch Bend, Mod Wheel, Channel Aftertouch and up to 6 MIDI CCs of your choice.
- Improved compatibility: As well as the existing AU and VST versions, MidiShaper now comes in VST 3 format and has native Apple Silicon compatibility.
Regularly priced 49 USD/EUR, MidiShaper for Windows and Mac (VST/VST3, AU) is on sale for 29 USD/EUR until January 5th, 2025, at Plugin Boutique and from the Cableguys store. The update is free for existing owners of the plugin.
