Orange Tree Samples has released CoreBass: Cherry, a sample library for Kontakt 2/3.
Greg Schlaepfer explains the concept behind CoreBass: Cherry.
Many sample libraries today feature extensively-sampled instruments, which use dozens of keyswitches and other controls to navigate through many articulations. While these sample sets can achieve a great amount of realism, it takes extra effort when sequencing them to take advantage of the various articulations involved.
I wanted to create a sample library that you can play directly through the keyboard, or just enter in the notes on a staff and have it sound realistic.
The result is high-quality samples combined with cutting-edge technology which “translates” MIDI input into articulations that a real bassist would use. This interpretive technology insures that whether you are playing the sample library from a keyboard or simply entering notes into the staff, the output will sound like a live bassist.
CoreBass: Cherry features
- 523 MB of 24-bit samples.
- 4x round robin (no more machine gun effect!).
- Sampled down to a low B.
- Long, natural decay.
- Release tones.
- Automatic hammer-on, pull-off, slide up, slide down articulations (intelligent legato).
CoreBass: Cherry is available as an instand download for an introductory price of $39.95 USD (regular price $49.95).
