Soundiron has announced version 2.0 of its Olympus Micro Choir, a major redesign which doubles the content and vastly expands the feature range of the choral instrument for Kontakt.
We’ve added a ton of new cutting edge UI features and capabilities, along with the new fast Russian Slavonic poly-sustain ‘Raduisya’ to go along with original slow Latin ‘Dominum’, both with optional tempo-synching for Kontakt 5. We’ve also added easy-to-use smooth ‘Ah’ ff and ‘Oo’ pp vowel sustain options and a new ‘Ah’ and ‘Oo’ short Staccato preset.
We’ve rolled in tons of great new GUI features from our more powerful flagship choir libraries, including dual-ensemble layering with independent controls that allow you to seamlessly blend between the different vowels and poly-sustains on the fly. The standard swell, attack, offset, release and release sample volume controls are there, but now you can stack two section layers together or smoothly cross-fade between them, customize their key ranges and freely sculpt performance settings on the fly.
We’ve also enhanced the legato system with smoother gliding and independent voicing for each divisi section, with phrase-synchronous legato for the poly-sustains and smoother gliss-style legato for the vowel sustains. You have control over speed, bend intensity and range. There’s now also a 3-band EQ with sweepable mid and an integrated convolution reverb engine with 10 special FX impulse options and 10 classic acoustic spaces to choose from.
The full master preset includes all poly-sustains and vowel sustains for both men and women in one unified interface, with customizable key range and performance controls for each section. The more focused Divisi men and women presets allow dual-voice melodic legato and cross-vowel morphing for bigger, more precise arrangements. We’ve streamlined the library and packed more power into every instrument to cut down the clutter and make them easier to navigate and use. You’ll also find brand new special atmospheric presets that take the choir in new creative directions, with custom FX control for each one tied to the modwheel.
Olympus Micro is available to purchase for $19.99 USD. Requires Kontakt 4.2.4 or later, full version.
Soundiron has also announced a demo contest for Olympus Micro.
The creators of the two best tracks that show off all of the new content and features in Olympus Micro 2.0 will be awarded their choice of either a copy of our Mercury Symphonic Boy’s Choir or a copy of our full Olympus Symphonic Choral Collection with Mars and Venus together! Just send us an mp3 by email or Soundcloud link of your submission by March 8th, 2013.
We’ll select the two best tracks that we feel go the deepest into Olympus Micro’s new content and capabilities and announce the two winners by March 15th.
