Toontrack has announced that its annual Metal Month will be launched again this November.
It will include eight new metal related product releases and kick off on November 1 with an all-new campaign site as well as an exclusive online stream of a Soilwork show.
“To kick off one of the most exciting months of the year with an exclusive live stream from a band with close ties to our brand is amazing. It’s not only a celebration of all the hard work leading up to eight new product titles, it’s our way of inviting Toontrack users from around the world to join in online for a great start to a jam-packed month”, commented Peter Knutsson, Toontrack’s CEO.
“All of us in Soilwork are very proud to inaugurate this year’s Metal Month. I’ve been a proud user and supporter of Toontrack for many years now. Their amazing software has completely revolutionized the way I create and record music, and this goes for the band as well. EZdrummer, Superior Drummer and the like have become household names for metal musicians and producers worldwide, and we’re very proud to fly the Toontrack flag”, said Dirk Verbeuren, Soilwork’s drummer.
None of the eight products slated for release in November have yet been officially announced. Each week of the month, one or more products will be revealed online.
“This is our fourth consecutive edition of Metal Month. Each year leading up to November, we work as hard as we possibly can to outdo ourselves. For this year’s selection of products, we have travelled from our native north of Sweden to the southern tip of the US, across the continent to Canada, via England, Norway, Stockholm and back to bring our users the most inspiring set of metal tools and sounds we could come up with”, commented Mattias Eklund, Toontrack’s head of Sound Design.
“This year we present new titles that span almost all our product lines. We’ll introduce collaborations with new producers as well as the return of a few of the most popular engineers behind earlier products. There will be new drum sounds, guitar tones and mix tools that I am confident will cater to a broad segment in the metal music community”, said Peter Knutsson.
The Metal Month site will also host a jukebox based on selections of original music composed by the Toontrack user base.
“We always strive to highlight the talent of our customers. To put their efforts in a well-lit area of our market place is something we are very proud of. Making music is what our software tools are all about, and there are no better ambassadors for what we do than our own users. There is an incredible amount of undiscovered music out there”, said Peter Knutsson.
Toontrack is also presenting Periphery’s current North American tour and will be offering exclusive on the road reports in its social media channels, directly from the band. Finally, Metal Month will culminate in the announcing of the winner of the Metal Guitar God 2013 lead guitar contest, launched already earlier this month.
The Soilwork stream will go live on November 1 at approximately 23:00 CET at the Toontrack website.
