Steinberg has announced the release of Colliding Worlds, a new drum expansion pack for the Groove Agent 4 and Groove Agent SE 4 instruments, featuring percussive samples and grooves recorded and produced by composer, sound designer and multi-instrumentalist Simon Stockhausen.
With 30 construction kits, Colliding Worlds expands the sound libraries of the Beat Agent included in Steinberg’s complete drum workstation, Groove Agent 4, and the Groove Agent SE 4 instrument plug-in available in latest versions of Cubase. Colliding Worlds combines exotic percussion instruments, processed sounds from field recordings and electronic sounds. Over 3 GB in size, all construction kits were recorded in 48 kHz and 24-bit resolution with multiple velocities, different alternates, one-shots or loops.
Simon Stockhausen is acknowledged for his improvisational collaborations, compositions for ensembles, as well as owing to his work with European theater companies and orchestras.
Stockhausen said: “This library is a diverse collection of drum and achromatic/chromatic percussion sounds, tempo-synced loops, electronic soundscapes and processed field recordings, deeply exploring a wide range of sonic colors, rhythmic textures and time signatures.”
“The exotic samples combined with the extraordinary sound design make Colliding Worlds a great source of inspiration equally suited for sound designers, composers and music producers,” commented Senior Marketing Manager Matthias Quellmann.
