Ableton has announced the full program for Loop Create, a new interactive event for music makers, taking place June 26–27, 2021.
Hosted on Ableton’s own microsite for Loop events, Loop Create is free to attend, and those interested can register on the Loop Create page to take part. The day consists of a variety of sessions and activities in different formats, curated around the central theme of ‘Site and Sound’, with every session introducing new ways for attendees to explore their environment and the impact it can have on the music they make.
Sound engineer and educator Liz Teutsch will guide a workshop on recording with everyday devices, and A.Fruit is set to take on the live challenge of creating sound effects on the spot. Dan Keen and Leo Wyatt from LABS by Spitfire Audio will host a session from their London studio, providing technical insights on processing field recordings and manipulating them into playable software instruments.
Experimental composer KMRU will give a personal presentation with an extended Q&A on environmental and cultural influences on music practice. Perera Elsewhere is confirmed to perform with band members Toto Wolf and Oren Gerlitz, accompanied by visuals from Hugo Holger Schneider. Between sessions, attendees can join the Loop Cafe, a virtual hangout space with a menu of musical thought experiments and conversation games.
When the program has completed one eight-hour cycle, each session will be repeated, so that attendees in different time zones can join in throughout the day and experience the event in its entirety. Presenters Sky Deep and Christa Belle will guide attendees through the schedule, introducing each session and getting new attendees up to speed.
Registration to Loop Create closes June 20, at midnight, Berlin (UTC+2).
