Steinberg has announced that it will be distributing Alan Parsons’ Art & Science of Sound Recording video series by Keyfax NewMedia.
“The Art & Science of Sound Recording is a complete ‘top-to-toe’ look at the modern sound recording process. It begins with looking at what sound is and how it behaves in rooms and then follows the chain of events and equipment from beginning to end,” said Julian Colbeck, CEO at Keyfax.
The boxed set contains three DVDs encompassing 24 sections on a range of useful topics from MIDI to audio recording techniques. The show covers various methods of signal processing in the analog and digital domain, using compressors, EQ and reverbs among many others. This is followed by providing a detailed look at recording the essential parts of each band: guitars, keyboards, drums and vocals. Eventually the different processes come together when addressed in a live recording setting.
“Art & Science of Sound Recording is a wonderful DVD box set about music production. Thanks to Alan Parsons as presenter of the show, this series is not only very informative, but boasts a comparable degree of craftsmanship,” commented Frank Simmerlein, Steinberg’s marketing director.
Multi-instrumentalist, engineer and producer Alan Parsons has worked together with some of the greatest artists in rock history, the likes of the Beatles and Pink Floyd, and with The Alan Parsons Project wrote history himself.
The Art & Science of Sound Recording is available as a three-DVD boxed set from Steinberg for €119 EUR/£101 GBP.
