Analogue Drums has released Splitsticks, a drum sample library featuring a Slingerland drumkit.
Sticks and stones may break your bones but Splitsticks won’t. Played with HotRod™ sticks, it’s the same tasty Slingerland 4-piece ’60s kit that we used for Popsticks, but with a more laid-back sound – somewhere between the sound of brushes and regular sticks.
Reduced velocity sampling means it uses less system resources than Popsticks. Close mic and room mic options give plenty of scope for mixing things up. Tracked through a ’74 Neve desk, and as always onto a nice thick roll of tape.
Splitsticks features
- Slingerland 4-piece ’60s kit, recorded through a 1974 EMI Neve desk at York St Studio. Recorded in stereo, directly to tape. Converted using Apogee Rosetta converters.
- 308 discrete wav samples, quick-reference card (PDF), sampler mapping files.
- Sample format: 24bit, 44.1khz, Stereo, Wav format.
- Compatability: Native Instruments Battery 3, Native Instruments Kontakt 2 & 3 and EXS24 / Logic.
Splitsticks is available for purchase for $14.95 USD.
