apulSoft has announced an update to its audio effect plugin designed to add harmonic distortion to audio signals. Version 1.2.0 of apShaper adds compatibility with Apple Silicon native, alongside some improvements.
It combines a waveshaper with three filter bands and various modulation options – two LFOs, a dynamics detector (with sidechain option), and user-configurable knobs.
apShaper can simulate multiple types of distortion, including tape and tube saturation, wave folding, and analog bit crushing.
Changes in apShaper v1.2.0
- User-ID no longer required/displayed on the GUI.
- Dynamics input: added side-chain input, pre-listen and spectrum display.
- Improved DC removal filter.
- Less noise when switching presets.
- Improved spectrum graph drawing.
Priced $59 USD, apShaper is available in VST/VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats for Windows and macOS.
