Audio Brewers has released a new plugin that can convert Ambisonics audio files from one format to another. ab Transcode is suitable for users who have recorded audio using 1st Order A-Format microphones such as the RODE SoundField, Sennheiser Ambeo, Zoom H3-VR, among others.
ab Transcoder eliminates the need for multiple plugins from various manufacturers. ab Transcoder is designed to be operated quickly: To use the plugin, users simply select their Signal type INPUT and the desired OUTPUT. ‘ab Transcoder’ handles the rest, in a straightforward operation.
Additionally, the tool provides a Mic Orientation control feature, for instances where the microphone might have been sideways or upside down during recording. ab Transcoder is equipped to convert any A-Format (types I or II), FUMA, or AMBIX signals to either AMBIX or FUMA.
The plugin exclusively supports 1st Order Ambisonics A-Format and B-Format signals. Moreover, it comes with a ‘smart troubleshooting’ algorithm that examines the signal chain and notifies users of any issues.
